For Immediate Release: Feb. 12, 2016

The Museum Broken Arrow has been named Non-Profit of the Year by the Broken Arrow Area Chamber of Commerce.

The Museum Broken Arrow received the Arrowhead Business Award during the 2016 Broken Arrow Annual Chamber Awards Banquet at the Hard Rock Resort and Casino in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on Saturday, Feb. 6.

“Our mission is to collect and perpetuate local and regional history and artifacts that enrich the legacy of our city,” said Lori Lewis, executive director of The Museum Broken Arrow. “We are honored and humbled to be recognized as Non-Profit of the Year by the Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce. Thank you to all of the Museum’s supporters who made this achievement possible.”

Awards were given in 19 major categories. There were 10 Arrowhead Business Awards presented as well as nine Community Leader Awards. The Arrowhead Business Awards are granted to businesses that serve the community not only through providing remarkable products and services, but to those who give back to the community, provide jobs and are outstanding corporate citizens.

Visitors to The Museum Broken Arrow can currently view “Letter Openers: 1800s to Present,” a special exhibit displaying a private collection of letter openers throughout the years. “His Master’s Voice: A Collection of Victor Talking Machines” is also available for viewing through March 26 and features a collection of vintage phonographs.
