"His Master's Voice: A Collection of Victor Talking Machines"
For Immediate Release: Feb. 2, 2016
The Museum Broken Arrow opens a new special exhibit, “His Master’s Voice: A Collection of Victor Talking Machines,” on Feb. 11. The exhibition will be open through March 26.
“In an effort to showcase the incredible beauty of the phonographic apparatus, a citizen of Broken Arrow has loaned a collection of Victor Talking Machines to the Museum,” said Lori Lewis, executive director of the Museum Broken Arrow. “We are excited to display such a spectacular array of antique phonographs.”
The exhibition represents a culmination of more than 30 years of restoration and collection through phonograph shows, auctions and trades as well as antiquing through travels.
An opening reception will kick-off the exhibit on Feb. 11 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. The reception will feature both a presentation and a demonstration.
Visitors to the Museum Broken Arrow can also view “Letter Openers: 1800s to Present,” a special exhibit displaying a private collection of letter openers throughout the years. The Museum Broken Arrow also offers a series of permanent collections in the main gallery telling the history of Broken Arrow and its residents.
The Museum Broken Arrow is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization located in historic downtown Broken Arrow near the site of the original Katy Train Depot. The Museum’s mission is to preserve the local history of the city and its residents and to serve as an educational opportunity for future generations.
